UNDER 11’s WIN DDSL EES CUP
One bright spot in a series of disappointing cup final results over the past two weeks was the win for Richard Deegan’s under 11’s in the DDSL EES Cup.
Finding themselves 3-1 down at half time and still the same scoreline with eight minutes to go they scored three goals in the last seven minutes to beat Blessington FC 4-3.
Well done to Richard Deegan David Horrigan and the entire squad for giving the club something to cheer about.
The Club were involved in 4 DDSL cup finals over the weekend in the AUL Complex.
On Saturday for the 3rd week running in cup and league ties our under 13 Premier team faced Cherry Orchard this time in the DDSL Liam Brady Cup Final at 10.15am, with honours even in the previous two games – another tight game was in prospect but this time Cherry Orchard were convincing 3-0 winners.
Next up were our under 16 Major who played Mount Merrion Youths in the DDSL Paul McGrath Cup Final but went down 2-0 in a poor display.
The weekend action finished on Sunday afternoon with our 17 Premier team playing St Josephs AFC in the final of the DDSL PFAI Cup and despite a brief rally in the second half to try and reduce a 2-0 deficit they eventually lost 2-1
The 17’s game was also a rehearsal for their FAI under 17 Cup final next Saturday in Frank Cooke park at 1pm.
