Jamie Mullins Departs For Brighton

Everyone at SKB would like to wish Jamie Mullins the best of luck as he begins the next chapter of his footbal career at premier league club Brighton & Hove Albion on January 1st.

He joins his ex SKB team mate Evan Ferguson at the Seagulls with both having followed a similar pathway all the way from the SKB mini-leagues (little saints coaching academy) as five year olds through the age groups gaining league and cup honours as well as inter-league and international recognition along the way before making the move to national league football through our academy link with Bohemians where he became the youngest ever goalscorer in FAI Cup history with his strike against Longford Town last season.

Many of his team mates at his age group with SKB are now playing across channel – Ferguson, Sean Grehan (Crystal Palace) David Okagbue (Stoke City on Loan to Oldham Athletic) Cian Kelly (Derby County) while John Ryan recently left UCD to sample Italian football with Sassuolo, which proves what a talented group Karl Lambe, Rob Doran and Willy Burke among others helped develop.

SKB Receive Club Mark Award

We were delighted and proud to receive the FAI Club Mark award.

This could not be achieved without the dedication of all those who have worked tirelessly over the years to make the Club what it is today.

Thanks to all of the managers, coaches and other volunteers past and present who give of their time to provide football opportunities for hundreds of players weekly.

Thanks to Niall Keoghan from the FAI for dropping in and presenting the award to Sharon Mitchell who was responsible for collating and submitting all of the data necessary to gain this award.

A total of five players from our current under 15 SKB – BOHS team will be part of the Ireland under16 squad who will play their first internationals of the season when they take part in the prestigious the Victory Shield in Waterford.

Luca Callicoe,Fiachra Coffey, Sean Moore, Taylor McCarthy have been named in the squad with James Bailey placed on standby.

Congratulations to all five who have played all their football in SKB since joining at small sided game level where they enjoyed great success over the years before progressing last season to national league level as part of the SKB-BOHS Academy.

All of their coaches and managers at SKB through the years can take great credit and pride in their achievements up to now and hopefully they can emulate all of their illustrious predecessors who have represented the club at schoolboy level and beyond.

Also included in the squad are ex SKB players Ivan Graminschi and Richie Vodo.

Ireland will take on Wales on Sunday, October 30th, followed by Northern Ireland on Wednesday, November 2nd and Scotland on Friday, November 4th.

Good Day At The Thomond Cup Tournament

Four of our small sided games squads took up the invitation today to take part in the Thomond Cup tournament in Limerick.

Our under 9’s (2014) 10’s (2013)  11’s (2012) and 12’s (2011) made the journey south and all reached the final of their respective age groups with the 9’s 10’s and 12’s winning their competitions and the 11’s narrowly losing out in their final to close neighbours Home Farm.

These tournaments are all part of the boys learning proces as they advance through the age groups which we as a club have always encouraged to broaden their experience and test them in a different environment to what they encounter weekly in local league games and to follow in the footsteps of al the successful teams that SKB have produced over the years.

Congratulations to all the players and staff involved today and to the parents who travellled to support the teams.

Cup News – SFAI & National League

Good news travelled eastward yesterday evening with the return to form of our under 14 SKB/BOHS National League squad who ended a few weeks of disappointing results with a 2-1 extra time win in the quarter-final of the national league against a fancied Galway United side at Eamon Deacy Park.

Marcel Schabowski and Chris Idah were the goalscorers and this sets up an away semi-final next Saturday against Shamrock Rovers in Roadstone.

Our under 17 DDSL premier squad started their quest for honours in the FAI under 17 cup this morning with a 5-1 win away at Greystones United with top scorer Dare Fuhad Kareem adding another two goals to his seasonal tally with Evan McGee, Sam Dunne and Karl Hearns making up the goal list.

On the SFAI Cup front there was wins for our under 14 DDSL premier squad 5-0 away at Newbridge Town, the 12 DDSL premier Saturday 5-0 away at Broadford Rovers, 13 DDSL Sunday division 1 and 14 DDSL Sunday division 1 both 5-0 at home to Corduff FC and Lakelands FC respectively, under 12 DDSL division 2 1-0 at home to Clarehall Celtic and our under 16 major 4-0 away to Castleknock Celtic but defeats for our under 14A1, under 12 division 3 teams and under 13 division 5.

Under 18’s Advance In FAI Youth Cup

Our under 18 premier team were our first schoolboy team in cup action this season when they faced Bohemian FC this morning in the first round of the FAI Youth Cup at St. Aidans.

The teams faced one another in a DDSL league tie at Albert College last Sunday which ended all square 4-4 so a close encounter was anticipated and that’s the way it turned out.

SKB had most of the clear-cut chances throughout the game and Ciaran Lawless Crowe and Kobi Ndebumadu took two of them to advance to the next round.
