Five games in five days ended with victory for SKFC in the NI Super Cup Vase trophy final this evening with a 3-2 win over Co. Fermanagh at The Heights grounds in Coleraine.

The performances of all the players in the squad in the games were exceptional and this allied to the preparation, organisation and hard work put in by the management duo of Donie Bermingham and John Fullam – not just through the week of the tournament – but in the weeks and months prior to taking part led to this success and in the process made many life time memories for all involved.

(GAME 4)

Another outstanding performance from the boys this afternoon when they faced Brighton & Hove Albion at Castlerock in the semi-final of the N I Super Cup Vase section.

They went 2-0 up with goals from Darragh Emmett and Eoghan Ryan and looked to be heading for a clearcut win and a place in tomorrows Vase final but Brighton scored twice late in the second half to force a draw and bring the game to penalties.

After the fourteenth penalty the issue was finally decided with the boys getting through to the final 7-6 where they will face Co. Fermanagh at 5pm at

(GAME 3)

Our under 16’s reserved their best performance of the week up to now when finished their group games tonight when coming from a goal down in Ballymena to defeat Londonderry 2-1.

The concession of a goal after 5 minutes to the eventual group winners didn’t deter them and their efforts were rewarded after 55 minutes when AJ Fetherston equalised and the win was secured 10 minutes from time when Darragh Emmett scored from the spot.

The final 10 minutes plus the addition of 8 minutes injury time was tense and nervy which saw them having to defend an onslaught as the favourites sought to save a point.

In the end they did enough to end their group games with a win, a draw and a loss for a 4 point total and a goal difference of -2 which gives them 3rd place and a spot in the semi-finals of the Super Cup Northern Ireland Vase Trophy tomorrow.

The draw for the Vase semi finals are Brighton & Hove Albion v St Kevin’s FC, Newcastle United v Co. Fermanagh both these games will be played today (Thursday July 27th) at 4pm.

(GAME 2)

The final scoreline of 1-4 does not reflect the game played or the effort put in by SKFC in their second group game against Armagh in Broughshane last night.

Some missed chances early on were to prove decisive especially when they fell behind to a hotly disputed penalty after 15 minutes, but they re-grouped and were level in the 28th minute with a well worked goal from Eoghan Ryan before a defensive mix-up right on half-time left it 1-2 at the interval.

A speculative strike 10 minutes into the second saw Armagh increase their lead but the game turned on a decision to disallow a perfectly good goal for offside that even the Armagh defenders were surprised at. A fourth goal with the last kick of the game put a harsh reflection on the scoreboard.

(GAME 1)

Our U16 Premier team opened their N.I Supercup campaign on Tuesday night with a creditable and hard fought 0-0 draw against a strongly fancied Glasgow Rangers side at the Riada Stadium in Ballymoney.
