With a number of our premier and major teams making successful starts to their DDSL league campaign at home and away this weekend our Under 11 girls team made the long trek to Derry to take part in the North West Cross Border Cup.

After topping their qualifying group they played Maherafelt Blues in the semi-final which turned out to be a very tight affair with Aliyah Quinn scoring the only goal of game.

The hosts Foyle City Girls FC were their final opponents and despite going a goal down in a fiercely contested game they came back strongly to win 4-1 with 2 goals from Mia Coyle and one each from Emily King and Aliyah Quinn who was again on the scoresheet.

Aliyah Quinn was deservedly named player of the tournament.

Over 5 games they scored 16 goals and conceded only 2.
