KARL LAMBE DEPARTS SKFC

St. Kevins Football Club would like to express its sincere appreciation to Karl Lambe our Small Sided Games Director for all he has contributed to the club over the past fourteen years that he has been involved with us, the last seven of which he served as SSG Director.

His pleasant manner at all times and his huge appetite for work were two of the things that marked his involvement with us along with his leadership of young coaches that contributed to their development.

Karl’s contribution and his input to so many SKFC teams and players over his years here has been huge and that contribution will leave a legacy and a recognition of his capacities as a coach and as a person.

During his time here he developed as a coach from both a hands-on role, gaining experience from many experienced coaches and managers in the club and from taking his various coaching badges along the way through the FAI.

As well as managing and coaching in SKFC he managed successful teams for the DDSL in the Kennedy Cup and the LFA Youths in the inter-provincial series as well as being named coach of the year with the FAI in 2018.

We will miss him but we wish Karl all the best in the next chapter of his career at St. Patricks Athletic and assure him of a welcome in Shanowen Road at any time.

12 PREMIER AT JOHAN CRUYFF TOURNAMENT IN CATALONIA

Last weekend our under 12 premier team travelled to Cambrils in Catalonia to take part in the first edition of the

Cruyff Football Tournament which featured schoolboy players from all the top European professional clubs –

Barcelona, Ajax, Manchester City, 1860 Munich, Inter Milan, and others from Poland, Japan.

The tournament was organised with the backing of the Cruyff family led by Jordi Cruyff.
St. Kevin’s were the only team from Ireland taking part to this prestigious tournament.
The team opened their group games with wins over local side Marcet FC and then Ekkono FC before losing against
Ajax to finish second in their group.
They then played and beat Leigia Warsaw and followed that with a memorable 3-1 quarter final win against Italian
giants Inter Milan to reach the semi-final
The boys lost in the semi final to FC Barcelona, but finished with a fine 3-2 win over 1860 Munich to clinch 3rd place.
Their only two defeats were against the eventual winners and runners-up.
St Kevin’s where the only non professional academy to make it that far.
Special thanks to Anthony O’Neill and Michael Flannery from Cruyff football securing our place in the tournament.

Well done to the squad and management in what was a very worthwhile trip and experience.

FORMER SKFC PLAYER GRACE KEAVENEY CALLED UP FOR IRELAND’S U16 V WALES GAME

A former player of SKFC  Gracie Keaveney has been called up for the upcoming Ireland under 16s against Wales.
She joined in 2015 onto the boys playing on the premier team with the boys as a Goalkeeper, at the time there was no girls team. It didn’t phase her that at the time was the only girl in the club. All she wanted to do was play in goals.
Gracie moved  to the Girls  Bohemians Premier in 2019. Her Goalkeeping skills went from strength to strength.
In January this year made  Bohemians  WNL under 17s.  After joining She has also made her debut for the under 19s.
Gracie has been a Goalkeeper for 9 years.

SATURDAY IS REGISTRATION DAY FOR A NEW SEASON OF THE LITTLE SAINTS COACHING ACADEMY.

The Little Saints Coaching Academy resumes for the new season this coming Saturday

September 7th with registration open from 11am to 1pm at our Clubhouse which is located at;

St. KEVIN’S FOOTBALL CLUB CLUBHOUSE

         Larkhill Road / Crestfield Whitehall D09 HY42.

Our Academy is widely regarded as one of the best in the country as an introduction to the game of soccer for boys and girls from 4 to 8 years of age.

Registration is open all season long – each Saturday at the above address at 1.15pm

Our aim is to provide the very best football coaching for young children. Many players who have started their football journey at this basic level here with us have gone on to be household names in Irish football while others have played the game at a level they felt comfortable with –

but this is where it all starts.

Each child’s enjoyment and the fun they have at our sessions is what we have built our reputation on and has been vital to our success over the years.

All sessions are devised by our head coaches overseen by a qualified lead-coach along with other coaches and assisted by parents.

The goal at this early stage is to introduce children to the basic concepts of football. We also try to help the children develop their social skills, interact with other children and most importantly, have fun!

We try to help each child learn the basics of the game while at the same time ensuring every player enjoys each session with activities to keep them interested with plenty of time on the ball and individual coaching, as well as interacting with other children with whom they will become friends.

Congratulations to the move to Bohemian FC

We would like to wish and congratulate the six lads Jamie Fox,Travis Keddy, Rocco lawlor, Sam McKenna, Conor Walsh, Sean Ward and Manager Darren Dunne the best of luck. The lads all move to Bohemian Football Club through our official partnership with Bohs.
The lads signed officially yesterday with Bohemians Academy Director Trevor Croly at the clubs academy.
A big day for the lads and the club ❤️🖤🧡.
