Congratulation to our under 17 premier team who rounded off their season in fine style by winning the DDSL U17 Premier league title with an emphatic win over Cabinteely FC yesterday in St. Aidan’s so adding the league title to their FAI Cup win a fortnight ago and being denied a season treble on penalties in the Leinster under 17 Youth Cup.
——————————————————————————————————————————————————————–
Our Under 13 premier team are latest, and the 6th, SKFC team to win their League following a 3-1 win today away to Rathcoole FC.
League champions for the second year in succession, having won last year at under 12, the squad has had a memorable season with this league win as well as reaching the final of both the SFAI Under 13 National Cup and the DDSL Liam Brady Cup. The best team over a season wins the league and so theses lads have proved that over the past two seasons.
A goal down today at half time in a game that they only needed a point to ensure the title they came storming back in the second half with goals from Brody Coyle (2) and Max Glowgoski.
Well done to all the players who performed strongly all season from start to finish and to the management team of Joe Quinn – yet another major title for Joe – Paul O’Brien and Louis Cassidy.
Two interesting features of this win is that it the first time in the history of the club that a brother and sister have won league medals in the one season – Brody and Halle Coyle (Under 15 girls) and secondly the achievement of Max Glowgoski who has scored 63 goals this season.
___________________________________________________________________________
Our Under 16 premier team are latest, and the 4th, SKFC team to win their League following a 1-0 win tonight away to St. Josephs AFC.
Derin Jonmark scored a goal worthy of winning any league with a strike from outside the box and so put themselves in an unassailable position at the
top of the League.
It is a great achievement for this group of players most of whom are collecting a third premier league medal on the trot having won the DDSL Premier league at under 14, 15 and now under 16.
They showed great character over the past few weeks in their league games following their defeat 0-1 to tonight’s opponents in the SFAI Under 16 National cup final.
Congratulations to the management team of Greg Victory, Ciaran Burke, Carl O’Reilly and Logan O’Connell and all of their squad.
____________________________________________________________________________
The U13 Sunday 1 team are league champions following a 1-0 win on Sunday away to Swords Celtic and so put themselves in an unassailable position at the top of their League and it follows on from their win in the same league at under 12 last season.
Congratulations to Stephen Comerford and Ian Sweeney and all of their squad – they can look forward to making it a League and Cup double next weekend against Portmarnock AFC in the DDSL Gerry Donnelly cup final.
_______________________________________________________________________________
The latest SKFC team to win their League was our U15 Major 1 who following a 2-2 draw with Corduff FC on Wednesday night put themselves in an unassailable position at the top of their League . Congratulations to Keith Peppard, Nicky Somers and Rory Doogan and all of their squad – they can look forward to making it a League and Cup double next weekend against Cherry Orchard FC in the DDSL Conway cup final.
_______________________________________________________________________________
A bright spot over the weekend was the first league title of the season for the club with our 13 Sunday 5 division team managed by Chris O’Neill and Jason Mc Mahon winning their league that their team went through with just one defeat all season.
Congratulations to the management and players. Hopefully there will be more to come over the coming weeks.
Following on from Tayo Adaramola who received his first full international cap for the Republic of Ireland team in their recent game against Grenada in a friendly in Spain three more SKFC players have been honoured with full caps for Ireland – Josh Keeley in the Grenada game and Dawson Devoy and Kian Leavy in last Friday’s friendly against Canada.
Many congratulations to them and to their families on reaching such a milestone in their career and hopefully it will inspire them to push on achieve further success with their clubs so as to enhance their international careers further.
______________________________________________________________________________________________
Congratulations are extended to ex St Kevin’s Football Club player Tayo Adaramola who today will receive his first full international cap in the Republic of Ireland team who play Grenada in a friendly in Spain.
Tayo played schoolboy football for SKFC where Mark Keenan was his manager, but he never played at premier level for the club, before his family moved to London for work reasons.
He was signed by Crystal Palace soon after his arrival and he worked his way up through their Academy – where he is still a registered player – but spent last season with Championship side Sheffield Wednesday making 39 league appearances on loan with them.
Well done to him and his family. A reward for all his hard work and fighting spirit and hopefully this is a boost to his club career and the first of many more international caps.
Another plaque on the wall!!

A bit of SKFC history was made last night when our U15 girl’s team won their first piece of silverware just two years on from the team having been formed as part of our expansion programme in the Club to incorporate a girl’s section.
They capped off a great season last night winning 7-0 away to St Ita’s FC and a feature of the game was 4 goals from Halle Coyle (pictured).
They bounced back from the disappointment of losing narrowly in the DDSL Lynch Cup at the weekend to emphasise their superiority in their league as champions.
Great credit is due to Karen and Ally White for the manner in which they coached and managed these girls all season and this success is a testament to the hard work from the management and from the entire squad.
We look forward to continued success with this group of girls next season and to the overall expansion and success of our girl’s section.
Although he is no longer involved with the team credit should be given to Rob Freer who was instrumental in the formation of this team 2 years ago.
Our under 17 Premier team showed great character, resilience and resolve today as they sought to atone for two narrow cup final defeats over the past two weekends in both the Leinster Under 17 Youth Cup and the DDSL PFAI Cup finals.
Finding themselves 2-0 down early in the second half against St. Josephs AFC – who defeated them 2-1 in the DDSL PFAI Cup last weekend they attacked non stop in the last 25 minuted and were rewarded with two goals from number 10 Mazin Alraqi in the 63rd and 91st minute to bring the game to extra time and indeed had they take half of their second half chances there would not have been a need for the extra 20 minutes.
No goals in extra time as the intense heat sapped the energy from both teams and both teams should be credited with providing an excellent final for the large attendance at the excellent facilities of Tolka Rovers FC.
Again Baileigh Rock produced an excellent save in the shoot out and also scored his own one as the teams were level 4-4 after 5 penalties each, Baileigh again saved in the sudden death to leave Danny Reay to score the winner and ensure a 6-5 win for the cup to make the short journey from Griffith Avenue to Collins Avenue.
Danny Reay, Baileigh Rock, Adam Dequina, Derin Jonmark, Cian Smith and Mazin Alraqi were the penalty scorers and centre back Aaron Popescu picked up the man of the match award.
Well done to all the players;
Baileigh Rock, Timur Ryaguzov, Aaron Murray, Adam Dequina, Jakub Zalnierczuk, Aaron Popescu, Blake Daly, Exauce Gabie Nzazi, Nathan Connolly, Danny Reay, Jimmy Cassidy, Miracle Godspower, Michael Manning, Cian Smith, Mazin Alraqi, Kesther Efe, Derin Jonmark, Lewis Oladipo, Miracle Igweze and Marcel Ruda.
And the management team of;
Mark Tierney, Josh Dawson, Andy McKenna, Jeff Dequina, Stephen Costello and Andy McKenna (Junior).
A great season by any standards to reach the finals of the three cups that they competed for and to be within a few points of clinching the league title over the next few weeks.
There was no joy for either our 15 Major 1 team (0-3) or our under 15 girls (2-3) in their DDSL Cup finals this morning but both will have consolation knowing that they are league champions of their respective divisions.
No joy either for our under 13.1 Sunday team who lost on penalties to Portmarnock AFC in the Gerry Donnelly Cup Final after a 2-2 draw and so were denied the chance of a League and Cup double but they can be very happy with the season that they enjoyed under Stephen Comerford.

The FAI Under 17 Cup Final is the top game this coming weekend when our under 17 Premier team seek to atone for two narrow cup final defeats over the past two weekends in both the Leinster Under 17 Youth Cup and the DDSL PFAI Cup finals.

Also the club are also involved in 3 more DDSL cup finals over the weekend in the AUL Complex.
On Saturday our under 15 Major 1 are hoping to record a league cup double when they face Cherry Orchard in the DDSL Conway Cup Final at 10.15

Finally the last of the 12 finals in which the club qualified for takes place On Sunday with our under 13 Sunday 1 hoping to record their league cup double when they face Portmarnock AFC in the DDSL Gerry Donnelly Cup Final at 10.15.
Good luck to all!!
One bright spot in a series of disappointing cup final results over the past two weeks was the win for Richard Deegan’s under 11’s in the DDSL EES Cup.
Finding themselves 3-1 down at half time and still the same scoreline with eight minutes to go they scored three goals in the last seven minutes to beat Blessington FC 4-3.
Well done to Richard Deegan David Horrigan and the entire squad for giving the club something to cheer about.
The Club were involved in 4 DDSL cup finals over the weekend in the AUL Complex.
On Saturday for the 3rd week running in cup and league ties our under 13 Premier team faced Cherry Orchard this time in the DDSL Liam Brady Cup Final at 10.15am, with honours even in the previous two games – another tight game was in prospect but this time Cherry Orchard were convincing 3-0 winners.
Next up were our under 16 Major who played Mount Merrion Youths in the DDSL Paul McGrath Cup Final but went down 2-0 in a poor display.
The weekend action finished on Sunday afternoon with our 17 Premier team playing St Josephs AFC in the final of the DDSL PFAI Cup and despite a brief rally in the second half to try and reduce a 2-0 deficit they eventually lost 2-1
The 17’s game was also a rehearsal for their FAI under 17 Cup final next Saturday in Frank Cooke park at 1pm.
3-3 AET LOST ON PENS.

A great few days for the club were capped off this afternoon when our under 16 DDSL Premier side were the fourth team from the club to reach a major cup final this season when they came from behind to beat Crumlin United 4-1 in the semi-final of the SFAI under 16 cup.
Alex O’Reilly hit a superb hat trick and Evan Meagher got the other as they move on to meet St. Josephs AFC in next months final.
That leaves one more National Cup semi-final involving SKFC teams awaiting decision which is the Under 17 FAI Cup semi-final home to Douglas Hall (Cork) in St. Aidan’s on May 3rd at 2pm.
Congratulations to both our under 13 and under 15 premier squads on reaching their respective SFAI Cup finals yesterday with excellent away wins at Shamrock Rovers and Ennis Town respectively.
There is never much between our 13’s and Shamrock Rovers but yesterday saw us score a decisive win away at Roadstone with two goals from Ollie Szall and one each from Max Glogowski and Ryan Hollingsworth easing them into the All Ireland final where another arch rival – Cherry Orchard – await whom they also clash with in the DDSL Liam Brady cup final next month.
On a hard bumpy pitch Ennis Town provided formidable opposition for our under 15 squad in their semi-final yesterday going a goal ahead midway through the first half.
A change of formation resulted in a much improved showing in the second half saw Dave Dunne’s team gain control of the game and goals from Ryan Donovan, Adam Scully and Sam McKenna gave them a comfortable cushion as the game entered a lengthty injury time phase (9 minutes) but a defensive wobble gifted Ennis Town a second goal and nearly a third before the full time whistle eventually sounded.
Fairview Rangers from Limerick and Leicester Celtic contest the other semi-final.
On Friday night our under 17 DDSL premier side played St. Josephs AFC in the semi-final of the Leinster Youth Cup in St. Aidan’s and came away with a 3-1 win that puts them into the LFA Youth Cup final against Cherry Orchard on May 7th at 8pm in Crumlin United FC ground Windmill Road.
Two first half goals from Lewis Oladipo and another from Cian Smith gave them a comfortable lead at half time and indeed the lead could have been bigger with a couple of good goal scoring chances not taken.
The second half was an altogether different story with Joeys pushing forward and Kevin’s dropping further and further back. Two excellent saves from Bayleigh Rock and a goal disallowed for a prior infringement kept the lead intact. A consolation goal at the start of injury time gave Joeys some reward in a game that was a lot closer than the score line suggests.
Away from National and Provincial cup ties some of our other teams were making progress in DDSL Cup competitions this weekend;
16 Major won away at Newbridge Town 2-1 in the DDSL Sunday Major Cup.
11.7 Sunday won 3-1 against Ballymun United in Shanowen Road in the DDSL Lees Cup.
15 Major Saturday won 2-1 away at Home Farm in the DDSL Conway Cup.
Thanks to everyone who supported our teams over the past few days, especially our group of young underage players who made their voices heard on Saturday afternoon in Roadstone.
PLEASE COME AND SUPPORT OUR TEAMS WHEN AND WHERE YOU CAN.
SKFC have no fewer than 12 Cup finals to look forward to over the next few week as the business end of the season starts in earnest.
Some final kick off times clash with others unfortunately, but that is the price we gladly pay to see so many of our teams of all grades and ages compete on the big stage.
Best of luck to all of our teams!!
Come out and support them when and where you can.
The Club have reached an agreement with Staydia Sports TV for the installation of a camera at Shanowen Road to broadcast games live.

Many congratulations are extended tonight to ex-SKFC player Bosun Lawal who made his full senior international debut when coming on in the second half of the 0-0 draw with North Macedonia at the Aviva Stadium and acquitting himself very well in his half hour on the pitch and no doubt this will be the first of many more appearances on the international stage.
His name is now forever in the records alongside the other twelve SKFC players – Liam Brady, Ian Harte, Alan Maybury, Stephen Carr, Damien Duff, Robbie Brady, Jeff Hendrick, Jack Byrne, Dara O’Shea, Evan Ferguson, Jimmy Dunne and Killian Phillips – who have represented Ireland at the highest level and Kathelgo Mashigo who played international football for South Africa.
Bosun came to St Kevin’s as a ten year old from Corduff FC and developed into a fine all round mobile player as he graduated through the ages with some very very good SKFC teams which included under the guidance of some of the best coaches and managers in the club.
Along with with winning numerous SFAI, DDSL leagues and cup honours he went on to represent the DDSL in the Kennedy Cup and gain International cap at all underage levels which culminated in tonight’s memorable achievement.
Well done Bosun and well done to all who helped you on your journey so far!!
